Officially known as Harold Osadebamwen Ogedegbe, writer, budget travel expert, and the creator of GrandRoyal Travel. I built this platform to be your go-to source for budget travel tips, destination guides, and real stories from the road.
I’m not a professional traveller. I’m not sponsored. I don’t stay in boutique hotels or get invited on press trips. I work a part-time job, I run this blog, and I book the same €49 Wizz Air flights you see on the deals page.
That’s exactly why I built GrandRoyal Travel. Because most travel content out there is written by people who forgot what it feels like to check your bank account before booking a hostel.

I’ve crossed into 30+ countries. Some trips were planned for months. Some were booked 48 hours in advance because a flight dropped to €29. Either way, I always found a way.

When you travel with money to burn, you insulate yourself. You take taxis, skip markets, eat at restaurants with English menus, and stay in places designed to feel like home. It’s comfortable. It’s also forgettable.
When you travel on a budget, you have to engage. You figure out the bus. You eat where locals eat because it’s €3 not €15. You talk to people. You slow down.
I’m not romanticising being broke. Having a solid budget and planning well makes travel less stressful, not more. But there’s a difference between travelling cheap and travelling smart. This site is about the second one.
